Why Outliyr · From the founder
After 270+ expert interviews with the world's top performance researchers, the gap was always the same. Scattered data, nothing that said what was working. So I built the tool I wished existed.
01The founding story
I started running self-experiments on my own body in my early twenties. Cycled supplements, tracked recovery, journaled food, pulled blood panels, ran every wearable that came out. The pattern was always the same: I had more data than any clinician would ever read in a year, and I still could not answer "is this peptide actually doing what it claims?"
The tools all fell into one of two camps. Either they were beautiful aggregators that visualized my data without telling me what it meant. Or they were narrow programs that picked one thread (glucose, HRV, gut, sleep) and ignored the other nine.
Across those interviews with researchers, doctors, and the most data-rich biohackers on the planet, I realized the missing piece was the experiment itself. Define a baseline. Define an intervention. Define what wins look like. Watch the metrics the intervention shouldn't affect, in case it does. Then run it.
Outliyr is that engine, surrounded by the bookkeeping it needs to be useful: every wearable, every supplement, every protocol, every lab, every daily context input, joined into one workflow.
02The thesis
Outliyr is for one specific kind of person: someone already spending serious money and attention on optimization, who is sick of being unable to tell what is actually working. The brand is named for outliers because the people we built this for are 99th-percentile optimizers.
Every protocol grounded in current research. Personal Scientist cites the studies behind its findings.
Compounds and protocols are evaluated against their long-arc human-use record, not just the latest trial.
Ayurveda, Traditional Chinese Medicine, ancestral practice. Filtered through evidence, not romanticized.
03The podcast that fed the product
High Performance Longevity · Interviews with researchers, clinicians, and formulators
Outliyr started as a blog in 2019, then a podcast in 2021. The product was built directly from those conversations: the questions guests kept raising, and the protocols they were running on themselves before anyone had published on them.
Every interview is a chance to ask a researcher the question a dashboard cannot answer, which is what they would actually test, in what order, and how they would know it worked.
When a researcher describes the protocol they are running, it becomes an experiment template with a baseline window, a target metric, and the metrics that should not move.
Doctors and clinicians are where the dosing ranges, timing notes, and interaction warnings inside Outliyr come from, which is why a protocol arrives with its cautions attached.
A claim that survives an interview still has to survive a test on you. Outliyr grades it on the evidence ladder: Experimental, Under test, Confirmed.
